Victim Crisis Response Program
The Victim Crisis Response Program assists individuals and their families in the immediate aftermath of crime or sudden unexpected tragedy. Operating 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, the Victim Crisis Response Program provides immediate on-scene crisis, trauma, safety and support services to victims of crime and sudden tragedies.
The program provides crisis intervention, practical assistance, referrals to a wide range of programs, services and counselling. Services are flexible and portable. The immediacy of this service assists in mitigating the harmful effects of trauma on victim(s) and their loved ones.
SCENE ATTENDANCE
On consent of the victim, police or other emergency personnel can mobilize teams of volunteer crisis responders to assist with immediate emotional and practical needs of victims and offer referrals to long term community services
